It's the most...wonderful time...of the year. With that in mind, the NAFCU Compliance Blog is calling on all festive folks to flaunt their decorations. Take a picture of your holiday decorations and email them to the compliance guy at [email protected]. It could be a door, a tree, lights - you name it! We'll put them together in a holiday photo album so all can see your holiday cheer, and the most festive holiday photo (as decided by a randomly-chosen grouping of NAFCU compliance geeks) will win a stylish NAFCU messenger bag. We'll take entries until January 1, 2008!
If you want a few decorating ideas, here are a few shots of the National Christmas Tree, courtesy of the National Park Service.
???????
Are you friggin kidding me?!?! What in the world does this have to do with compliance or regulation or legal issues?
Why don't you just show a picture of your Charlie Brown-looking Christmas tree?
And shouldn't you also show pictures of all faiths, including a Chanukkah Menorah or a Kwanzaa Kinara? Should you forget Buddhist's Bodhi Day or Muslim's Eid al-adha?
Just saying...
Signed,
The Grinch

Grinch,
You're darn right that had nothing to do with compliance! The previous post covered the LM-30. Any compliance posting that sounds like an industrial machine lubricant should be followed up with something a bit lighter!
And you didn't just call my tree a Charlie Brown Christmas Tree, did you? I thought we could be friends!
But a great point was raised - the holiday season is special for different people for different reasons. The Compliance Guy is all for respecting everyone's differences.
(By the way, this belief makes it easier to comply with Regulation B and other Fair Lending requirements.)
