Welcome back from the holiday weekend. I hope everyone had a chance to unwind and recover from the July 1 deadline craziness. Here are just a few news-worthy notes to start the week.
- Congress cleared the way for a flood insurance extension through September 30. The measure awaits the president's signature.
- NCUA filed a notice of claim on U.S. Central to protect its right to seek recovery under the liability policy.
- NAFCU members, our July Compliance Monitor is now available.
- Last week, NCUA held a "town hall" webinar where it discussed, among other things, corporate credit unoins and legacy assets. In case you missed it the first time, you can now access the archived version.
- NCUA has issued Letter to Credit Unions 10-CU-11, which provides guidance on the merger and purchase and assumption process.
